This year, I am participating in Expect Miracles Foundation’s Distance Challenge! 100% of participant-raised dollars through the Distance Challenge goes to life-saving cancer research and monetary assistance for young adult cancer survivors impacted by the heavy financial burden that can be incurred from treatments.

Many of you know I lost my mom to cancer in 2016. At just 43 years old, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer despite being an otherwise healthy, fit, non-smoker. This just goes to show that anyone can be afflicted with this disease, and it is becoming more common to see young people diagnosed.

Between May 14-21^st, I have committed to running/walking 30 miles in honor of those in my life and your life who have battled cancer. I will also be fundraising to support Expect Miracle’s mission.

If you had the pleasure of knowing my mom, you know that her main purpose in life was to help and spread kindness to others, whether that be her elementary school students, family members, friends, or even strangers. I know she would be proud to support this cause!
